Here at the PRS we make reading a priority for everyone. We encourage Reading for Pleasure and to support this we have incorporated DEAR time into our timetable. ‘Drop Everything And Read’(DEAR) is well established in the building now and ensures everyone has a book to hand.

We have a well-stocked library where pupils are encouraged to spend time. If they are unsure of what to read, we have a ‘Lucky Dip’ basket so that they can give it a try.

On admission all of our pupils take part in the STAR Reader assessment. This helps us to understand reading ability to ensure pupils are able to access the books as well as enjoy what they are reading.
