Mental Health Awareness Week – “Take a Break” with Miss Zeina

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, pupils were invited to “Take a Break” during Miss Zeina’s lessons – and the response has been heart-warming. Across the week, pupils enjoyed cosy sessions with hot chocolate, biscuits, and a feel-good film, creating a calm and welcoming space to pause and reflect.
Alongside the treats, pupils took part in open discussions about mental health and shared ideas on how we can take care of ourselves, both in and outside of school. From simple daily habits to the importance of rest and connection, the conversations were thoughtful, honest, and empowering.
Many pupils expressed how much they appreciated having time to relax and be heard. The hot chocolate, of course, was a firm favourite, helping to create a warm and comforting atmosphere.
Staff are encouraged to continue supporting the wellbeing message by incorporating grounding activities into their own lessons, or simply by offering opportunities for pupils to pause and reconnect.
A big thank you to everyone who supported the sessions. Let’s keep encouraging open conversations and small acts of self-care across our school community.
Remember: It’s okay to pause. It’s okay to talk. It’s okay to take care of you.
