On Monday 9th December, one of our pupils committed herself to a sponsored silence! Now this may sound easy to some, however this particular pupil LOVES to talk and self admittedly, doesn’t ever stop.
Miss Oldham organised the silence and staff & the pupils’ family and friends were very generous with their donations. The total raised was a WHOPPING £178! For a small school like ourselves, this is massive.
With the money raised, the pupil and her friend went on a shopping trip with Miss Oldham & Miss Broadbent. They were able to pile a trolley high with toys, including a few extra being carried! Presents were delivered to Westway Open Arms in Eastfield, a local charity that we have partnered with previously.
Westway were delighted with the toy haul, they especially liked that the pupils had thought about pets, donating some treats for them too. When leaving, the pupils said that they “feel so good” about themselves for giving to others less fortunate.
We hope this inspires other pupils to carry out some charity work!
Well done girls!
