This week some of our pupils visited our local Fire Station for a careers visit. They found out lots of handy information such as: shift patterns, wage, day in the life, qualifications needed etc. One of our pupils also asked the biggest question on her mind… “If I set the fire alarm off in school, does it go through to here?” Of course the answer was, “YES! So only use it in a real life emergency.”

The pupils tried on the fire fighters’ outfits and they were amazed how heavy they were! The Fire Fighters spoke about what they have to do every day, week and month to keep their fitness up to be ready in all scenarios.
